"Low Country Blues" to pierwszy solowy album Gregga Allmana (lidera The Allman Brothers) od 1997 roku, kiedy ukazał się "Searching For Simplicity". Materiał na płytę nagrano w studio Village Recorder w Los Angeles należącym do T-Bone Burnetta (m.in. Robert Plant & Alison Kraus, Elton John & Leon Russell), który podjął się produkcji albumu. W składzie grupy akompaniującej Allmanowi znaleźli się Dr. John (fortepian), Doyle Bramhall II (gitara), Dennis Crouch (gitara basowa) oraz Jay Bellerose (perkusja).
Na "Low Country Blues" Gregg Allman składa hołd gigantom bluesa, takim jak Muddy Waters ("I Can't Be Satisfied"), BB King, Buddy Gay, Bobby Bland, Sleepy John Estes, Otis Rush ("Checking On My Baby") oraz Magic Sam ("My Love Is Your Love").
