O płycie

Po sukcesie wydanego w 2002 roku czteropłytowego boxu Elvisa Presleya "Today, Tomorrow & Forever", rok później postanowiono wydać kolejny czteropłytowy album o podobnym charakterze. Jest to wydawnictw typowo kolekcjonerskie, w efektownym opakowaniu (digi pack), zawierające 89 nigdy wcześniej nie wydanych nagrań Króla Rock’N’Rolla. "Close Up" prezentuje cztery kluczowe okresy kariery Presleya. Na pierwszej płycie znalazły się rzadkie mastery stereo z lat 50., w tym tzw. odrzuty z sesji nagraniowych. Płyta druga to nie publikowane wcześniej fragmenty z czterech pierwszych filmów nagranych po wyjściu z wojska - "G.I. Blues", "Blue Hawaii", "Flaming Star" i "Wild In The Country". Trzecia zawiera fragmenty z niemal każdej sesji studyjnej (B recordings) z Nashville z lat 60., zarejestrowane w słynnym Studiu B wytwórni RCA. I wreszcie płyta numer 4, na której umieszczono pełny, nie wydany dotąd koncert z 1972 r., oraz nagranie "Burning Love" z tego samego roku, zarejestrowane zanim jeszcze światło dzienne ujrzała wersja albumowa. Płytom towarzyszy 44-stronicowy booklet zawierający tekst Colina Escotta, szczegółową informację o każdym nagraniu oraz rzadkie fotografie.
