O płycie

Sir George Martin, legendarny producent The Beatles, został poproszony w 2006 roku przez dwóch żyjących członków kwartetu z Liverpoolu: Ringo Starra i Paula McCartney'a, oraz przez Yoko Ono Lennon i Olivię Harrison o zrobienie eksperymentalnych miksów nagrań zespołu. Nagrania miały być przygotowane na potrzeby teatru Cirque du Soleil. Sir George z radością przyjął propozycję i czerpiąc z zasobów całego archiwum nagrań Beatlesów, wraz z synem Gilesem Martinem, stworzył "Love". Rezultatem tego przedsięwzięcia jest wydawnictwo niezwykłe w swym podejściu do muzyki. Za pomocą oryginalnych taśm z sesji nagraniowych, Sir George i Giles stworzyli w słynnych studiach EMI przy Abbey Road unikalną scenerię dźwiękową. Muzyka z tego albumu wykorzystana została w przedstawieniu o tym samym tytule, wystawianym w teatrze Mirage w Las Vegas. Edycja specjalna "Love" zawiera oprócz standardowej płyty CD audio, dodatkowy dysk będący hybrydą DVD audio i video. Dźwięk tutaj został nagrany w formacie 5.1 surround, na części DVD audio płyty. Część DVD video zawiera 5.1 surround w DTS i Dolby Digital oraz format PCM stereo, z obrazem zakodowanym w systemie NTSC. Dysk DVD jest przeznaczony do odtwarzania w sprzęcie DVD, ale nie zawiera dodatkowych elementów wizualnych.
"Ten album sprawia, że Beatlesi znów są razem, bo nagle przy mnie i Ringo pojawiają się John i George. To magia!" - mówił Paul McCartney.
